Editor note: This article is an original English adaptation of a Notebook-Center.ru review, prepared by the Notebook Center editorial team.

Overview

ASUS positions the ExpertBook Y1411CDA as a practical work laptop, and this configuration follows that idea closely. It combines an AMD Ryzen 3 3250U processor, 8 GB of DDR4 memory, and a 256 GB SSD in a 14-inch chassis. The model focuses on office documents, browser-based workflows, video calls, and media playback rather than heavy creative or gaming workloads. At its original segment price, the main value is a balanced set of essentials: an IPS panel, usable port selection, and comfortable input devices.

Design and Build

The design is conservative and business-like, with a Slate Grey finish and black accents around the display and keyboard. The chassis is plastic, but panel rigidity is decent for this class and the surfaces resist fingerprints well because of the matte texture. At 1.6 kg, the laptop is portable enough for frequent commuting between office and home.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The 14-inch IPS screen delivers Full HD resolution and wide viewing angles, which helps with spreadsheets and long reading sessions. Brightness is rated at 250 nits, so indoor use is the comfortable scenario. Color coverage is limited for professional photo work, but it is acceptable for everyday content tasks. Audio from the dual speakers is clear, and a headset improves balance. The built-in 720p webcam is serviceable for routine video meetings.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is comfortable for daily typing, with a familiar layout and clear key labels. Key backlighting is not available in this configuration. The touchpad uses a clickpad design, supports standard gestures, and responds reliably for navigation and basic productivity workflows.

Performance for Daily Work

The Ryzen 3 3250U is an entry-level dual-core CPU with four threads, so performance is tuned for light-to-moderate multitasking, web apps, office software, and video playback. The integrated Radeon Vega 3 graphics can handle simple visual tasks but is not intended for modern gaming or demanding GPU workloads. The 8 GB memory capacity is adequate for mainstream office use, while the 256 GB SSD is fast enough for responsive boot and app launch times but may feel limited for larger local media libraries.

Ports, Connectivity, and Battery

Physical connectivity is practical for office use, including USB Type-C, USB 3.2, HDMI, legacy USB 2.0 ports, and a microSD card reader. Wireless options include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. There is no RJ-45 Ethernet port, so wired networking requires an adapter. The 32 Wh battery is positioned for shorter unplugged sessions, with reported office runtime around 4 to 4.5 hours.

Verdict

The ASUS ExpertBook Y1411CDA is best suited to users who need an affordable work-focused laptop for documents, browser tools, online meetings, and light entertainment. Its strongest points are the practical IPS display, comfortable typing experience, and useful everyday port mix. The main compromises are modest processing headroom, basic integrated graphics, small SSD capacity, and limited battery endurance. For straightforward office workloads, it remains a sensible budget configuration.
