Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15API Review: Budget 15.6-inch Laptop for Daily Work
Editor note: This article is an original English adaptation of a Notebook-Center.ru review, prepared by the Notebook Center Editorial Team.
Overview
Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15API is a budget 15.6-inch laptop configuration aimed at everyday office and study tasks. In this setup, Lenovo focuses on practical essentials: an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, 8 GB DDR4 memory, and a 256 GB SSD. The main trade-off is the display quality, while battery life and general usability are the stronger points.

Design and Build
The laptop uses a silver plastic chassis with a black display frame and a standard, clean business look. At 2.2 kg and 23 mm thickness, it is portable but not especially slim. The lid opens up to 180 degrees. The body is practical for daily use, though fingerprints can still appear on the surface.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
This model uses a matte TN Full HD panel. The key limitation is narrow viewing angles and modest brightness, so image quality drops when the screen angle changes and outdoor visibility is limited. The stereo speakers are quiet but clear for casual use and support Dolby Audio. The 0.3 MP webcam is basic in quality, but there is a physical privacy shutter.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard has an island layout with a numeric keypad and generally comfortable spacing. Typing feel is quiet and suitable for long text work, but there is no backlight. The touchpad supports multi-touch gestures and is serviceable for routine navigation, though sensitivity is not perfect.
Performance
With Ryzen 5 3500U, integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics, 8 GB RAM, and SSD storage, the IdeaPad L340-15API is positioned for office apps, web work, media playback, and study workloads. The source review also notes one free memory slot, allowing expansion up to 16 GB for better multitasking headroom.
Ports, Connectivity, and Battery
Most physical connectors are on the left side: USB Type-C, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, RJ-45, combo audio jack, charging connector, and Novo button. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0. The 3200 mAh battery is reported to last over ten hours in light text-oriented use and around five and a half hours for video playback, with roughly one hour needed to reach about 90% charge.
Verdict
Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15API is a straightforward low-cost laptop for users who prioritize price, basic productivity, and decent battery behavior. Its main compromise is the TN display quality, while CPU performance for everyday tasks and practical port selection remain useful strengths in this segment.
